Reserved seating is a vital feature of TicketLeap, designed to enhance the event experience for organisers and attendees. Consumers can choose their preferred seats, even on mobile devices, giving them control over their event experience and enhancing convenience from the moment they purchase tickets.
To build a seating chart, you must first have a venue set up. Click on Manage and select Venues. Then click on Create Venue.
Enter the venue information and mark the field for Reserved Seating. Save the venue information. You can now create your seating chart.
Click on the pencil icon next to the venue name. Then, click on View Seating Charts and Start from Scratch.
A pop-up will appear to select if your event will require Seat Categories. Seat categories are used if the price varies based on seating location (e.g., balcony, orchestra).
Note: If different prices are available to types of attendees (e.g., adult, child, senior), this is not a seat category (these are “price options” which are discussed later).
Click Continue.
The chart builder will launch. A helpful 60-second tour details the essential elements of the interface.
Creating Rows
Use the Row Tool to add rows to your chart:
Select the row type (single row, curved row, multiple rows), set the number of seats per row- click and drag down to add additional rows. You can add and delete rows as needed. Click on the Select button to exit the row builder so you can label the rows you’ve just created.
Labelling Sections and Seats
Using the Select Tool, click on any row in your chart to label your chart (e.g., Left Section and Right Section). You can select one or multiple rows to label.
Under Section Label, enter the name of the section. Click in the Displayed Label field if you would like the section name to appear on the public chart. Assign row labels (e.g., A, B, C) and specify whether seats are numbered from the left or the right. Label the seats as necessary. Repeat this step for each row.
Assigning Seat Categories
Once rows are created, assign seat categories to rows:
For instance, the first two rows could be VIP seating, with all subsequent rows designated as General Seating.
Adding an Object
Using the Rectangle Tool, click and drag to create an object within your chart.
Use the Select Tool to choose the created object and assign a label type (e.g., stage) to that object.
Setting the Focal Point
Define the focal point (e.g., stage) so the system can offer the best available seats to ticket buyers who do not choose their own seats
Note: Failing to set a focal point will make the best available option ineffective, and the buyer will only be able to choose seats manually.
Finalising The Seating Chart
Review and Publish
Confirm that all seats and categories are correctly labelled and assigned.
Ensure all objects are marked green as completed. Lastly, title the seating chart and click Publish to save your chart.
