Registration questions are a great way to learn about ticket buyers and attendees, such as contact information, t-shirt size, or dietary restrictions.
You can add and customize registration questions, waivers, and opt-in questions you want to be presented on your event's checkout page.
Adding Registration Questions
- Go to the Events tab, click Edit next to the event you want to add registration questions
- Go to Registration Questions, and click Add Question
- Choose the question format from a dropdown and fill in the details.
- Enable the toggle to make the question optional or required.
- Choose if the question should be asked per ticket or order and whether it should apply to all tickets or specific ticket types.
- Click Save.

By default, the first and last names are required when placing an order. Enable the toggle to require the first and last names on each ticket.

Question Types
| Question Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Text | A free-form text field for open-ended responses. Best for questions like t-shirt size, meal preference, or any answer that doesn't fit a predefined list. |
| Multiple Choice | Presents attendees with a set of options to choose from. Best for questions with a fixed set of answers, like session selection or dietary restrictions. |
| Waiver Agreement | Displays a custom text block that attendees must accept before completing checkout. Use for liability releases, medical risk acknowledgments, or any legally binding consent. Can be set as required. |
| Opt-In | Displays a custom statement attendees can voluntarily accept, such as consent to receive marketing emails or SMS updates. Always optional — the required toggle is disabled by design to comply with marketing consent regulations. |
| Number | Accepts a numeric response only. Best for questions like age, group size, or jersey number. |
| Phone | A formatted field for a phone number. Use when you need a direct contact number for the attendee. |
| A validated email field. Use when you need a separate contact email, such as for a guest or secondary contact. | |
| Date | A date picker field. Best for questions like date of birth or a requested arrival date. |
| Address | A structured field for a full mailing address. Use when you need a physical location from the attendee, such as for mailed merchandise or certificates. |
| URL | Accepts a web address. Use when you need a link from the attendee, such as a personal website, portfolio, or social media profile. |
Display Settings
It is possible to restrict where your registration questions appear. You can configure the questions in the Settings tab to appear in both Online and Box Office transactions or restrict them to either option.

Disabling Questions
You can manage registration questions by deleting or disabling them.

If the registration question has been answered, it cannot be deleted; you can only disable it. If you need to edit the question, you must disable the existing one and make a new question with the desired settings.
